To produce a superior B&B tree, you must start with a liner that is healthy and vigorous. Future Trees produces all its own liners, propagating each plant from cuttings. Rooted cuttings are matured for field planting using air root pruning containers to ensure a well developed, fibrous root system. Each liner is staked so that a strong, dominant central leader is established at an early age. These cultural practices allow us to place an exceptional liner into our field production, the first step in producing a superior tree.

Once a tree is placed into Future Trees field production, our goal is to cultivate a grade A tree that possess a strong, central leader, a well-developed root system, and is disease, weed, and insect free. In order to produce a strong leader and good form, Future Trees has developed pruning criteria for each type of tree. Our pruning practices were developed to promote the best possible branching, head shape and limb structure. Our cultural practices also concentrate on further enhancing the trees root system through the use of root pruning. Finally, we use a spray program to ensure that each tree is disease, weed, and insect free.

After an order is received, Future Trees pre-digs and hardens each tree to stimulate secondary root development and to minimize the stress the tree experiences when planted in the landscape. As you can see from start to finish our goal is to provide our customers with a superior grade A tree that is true to form, vigorous, disease, weed, and insect free and will survive and thrive in a new landscape.
